Veterans’ Legal Issues, Considerations, and Resources
Training for Federal Bar Association Members, Lawyers, Judicial Court Staff, and Law Students
On Thursday June 27th, Veterans Legal Services, in collaboration with the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, hosted a panel discussion and training for Federal Bar Association members, lawyers, judicial/court staff, and law students. The program highlighted veterans’ legal issues, considerations, and resources. This event provided an orientation on military culture for legal practitioners, and identified the most common legal issues veterans face and related considerations. Resources for both judicial/court staff and veterans are provided below.

Resources
Judicial/court staff may encounter cases that involve unique issues facing military veterans. They may wish to consult the following resources to help them address those issues. These resources are for staff use only.
Oftentimes, veterans would benefit from legal information as well as information on benefits (veteran-specific benefits or public benefits) that could help maximize their resources. This is a list of legal aid and other resources for veterans.
